We live in Singapore. Houses here are mostly apartments. One night, my sister was in her room. She heard a faint meowing that didn’t stop for two days.
So one night we decided to go down to see where the sound was coming from. It was dark, but I could see something moving in the bushes. Then I saw the eyes. It was a kitten, about four months old. I snapped my fingers and the kitten suddenly jumped out. She was cute and right away I fell for her.
Days went by and each time I left for school I would go and feed the kitten. She would come out only when she heard me snap my fingers. One day, as I was coming home from school, I saw three boys throwing small rocks into the bushes. I quickly ran up to them and scolded them. I was relieved to see the kitten was doing well and had no injuries.
My sisters and I decided to talk to our dad. We asked him to please let us keep the kitten. He didn’t agree to the idea, but we secretly brought her into our home one day while our parents were at work.
After two weeks of persuading my dad to let us keep the kitten, he agreed! He told us to take really good care of her because it will be a big responsibility. Now my kitten, Baby, is seven months old. She is healthy and happy to be with us. She and I have created a special bond. She is close to me and sleeps beside me every night. And, surprisingly, she was already house trained. She behaves well; it’s like she knows that we are going to keep her.
I will take good care of her and give her the love she needs. I promised myself that whatever happens she will always be with me.
