We had a Terrier named Cindy for 15 years. One night Cindy was let out into the woods as she had been all her life with us. She never came back and after days of searching we decided that she’d gone off to die.
Two weeks after we lost Cindy, a white cat came to the same back door where we’d last seen Cindy. When the door was opened, the cat came straight into the house and moved around checking things out. She stayed and we named her Snowball.
Several days after her arrival, a telling event occurred. We had two telephone lines in the house, one of which was my business line. This phone rarely rang and it’s ring was different from the other line. One night, as we were watching TV, my business phone rang. Snowball hopped up and ran to the phone and looked at me. This was the same thing Cindy always did. Then we knew. Cindy had returned.
