Weight loss, vomiting and elimination in unusual places are often signs of a medical problem in an older cat. These should not be ignored. A veterinary visit with a good physical examination, blood tests and perhaps even radiographs or an ultrasound may be needed to diagnose the problem or problems. Then the veterinarian can discuss with you the possible treatment modalities available and how useful they would be to control the problem. Then a decision can be made if treatment is the best option for the cat.
