Please accept our condolences about your cat. It is often so easy to look back and try to second guess what happened but it is likely there was more going on with your cat than what meets the eye. Each veterinarian handles vaccinations in sick cats a little differently and you have to trust that your veterinarian felt your cat was ok to receive the vaccine. My first thought would not be that the combination of medications caused his death. Perhaps the abscess was worse that thought or perhaps there was a completely different issue going on such as heart disease that was not apparent on physical exam. I wish I could tell you for sure why your cat passed away but unfortunately we may never know. Again, please know how sorry we are about your cat.
