It is possible that the cats had a falling out that you are not aware of. However, when an older cat shows changes in behavior, there could be a medical cause. Older cats often have arthritis, endocrine problems or kidney problems. So a good veterinary check up would be one place to start. It also might help to use treats to help each cat begin to associate special things with each other when they are together.
