Just like a persons behavior may differ with individuals, so might a cats. A cat is going to continue to do things that seem to “work†in a specific relationship. So, if he can get you to pick him up by doing certain things and he likes the results, that behavior is likely to be repeated. When a cat rolls on their back it usually does not mean they want to be petted there. Some cats enjoy a good tummy rub and others simply detest them. If often is beneficial to watch our companion cats and figure out what they like and dislike and then tailor our relationship to one that satisfies both of you.
