The best thing you can do is to brush, comb or groom your cat regularly. Indoor cats will shed all year long (the shedding cycle is based on light hours not temperature etc). Many of the things recommended out there for decreasing shedding, from home remedies to products at stores, do not seem to work. Brushing is the best to prevent the hair from dispersing. To remove hair from fabric a good lint brush or tape roller is best. I do have a friend as well that swears that rubber dishwashing gloves work well to remove hair off fabric.
