The exact reason that cats eat grass is not completely understood. Some speculate that when animals eat other animals they also eat stomach contents which contain grasses and grain. In other situations they may just like the taste. Another theory suggests that grass acts as a purgative to help clean out the intestine. If the cat is continually eating grass and not doing well, a veterinary visit is needed.
