Since your veterinarian saw it and was not concerned I would suspect you do not need to worry unless it has gotten worse. There are many possible explanations. To name a few: it could be viral in origin as the feline herpes virus can cause chronic inflammation of the eye or it could be a local irritation from dusts or sprays in the environment, etc. I would return to your veterinarian to have it checked if it worsens, you see eye discharge, the rest of eye looks inflamed, if your Tonkinese is showing any other signs of illness or if you are concerned.
